In 2010 a large volume of works for meeting the oil production objectives of the company was performed. Thus, the total production volume of PetroKazakhstan Inc. (including 50% shares in JV Kazgermunai and JV Turgai Petroleum) made up 6.048 million tons of oil. Of which PKKR and Kolzhan – 3.0 mln tons (planned 2.7 mln tons), Turgai Petroleum – 2.9 mln tons (planned 2.9 mln tons), Kazgermunai – 3.1 mln tons.
In 2010 was commissioned new oil field – North-West Kyzylkiya, which allowed to significantly increase the daily production level of PKI. A contract was signed with the Ministry of Oil and Gas of RoK for production of hydrocarbon crude on the East Kumkol oil field, on Tuzkol oil field was extended the production testing, whereby from the mid 2010 at this oil field started production of oil. Moreover, in February 2011 the Committee on Geology and Subsoil use of the MIaNT of RoK approved the draft document for conducting the production testing of West Karabulak oil field.
In 2010 were drilled 99 wells, of which 79 operational and 20 exploratory. As part of the efforts to increase the oil output in 2010 were carried out activities for stimulation of production by hydraulic fracturing and hydrochloric acid treatment. Significant increase of the operation wells fund allowed expanding the number of production facilities. In 2011it is planned to drill 97 wells, 67 of which production wells and 30 exploratory wells.
In 2010 PKI Group was ranked fifth among the oil producing companies in Kazakhstan by its oil production volume (according to GDU data).
