The PetroKazakhstan Group of companies consists of five business units: upstream – JSC PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources, downstream – PetroKazakhstan Oil Products LLP, corporate services units – AB PetroKazakhstan Overseas Services, Marketing and Transportation Unit, and Joint Ventures Unit.

PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources (PKKR) is an oil production company founded in 1996 on the basis of JSC Yuzhneftegas to develop oil fields and exploration blocks in the South-Turgai basin.

PetroKazakhstan Oil Products (PKOP) is the Group’s oil refining unit, which was founded in 2000 on the basis of OJSC Shymkentnefteorgsintez. PKOP is based in the South-Kazakhstan oblast, close to the city of Shymkent and engaged into refining of crude oil into the high-quality oil products.

PetroKazakhstan Overseas Services Inc. (PKOSI)  within the scope of PKOSI’s operations are: supply of international goods and services to all units of the PetroKazakhstan group, as well as providing the Group with corporate management and human resource services.

The Marketing and Transportation Unit, founded in 2000, is responsible for coordinating and planning, as well as selling crude oil and oil products both in Kazakhstan and abroad.

The Joint Ventures Unit was founded in 2005 to provide engineering, geological, geophysical, scientific and technical, marketing, legal and financial services to two joint ventures of the Group – JSC Turgai Petroleum and JV Kazgermunai LLP.

Each of the business units performs its activity independently at the same time as contributing to PetroKazakhstan’s overall success.
