PetroKazakhstan is a vertically integrated energy group combining production into a single technological chain. PetroKazakhstan’s operations include geological exploration, drilling, production, oil and gas transportation, purchasing, and also refining and selling crude oil and oil products.

JSC PetroKazakhstan Kumkol Resources (PKKR) and PetroKazakhstan Oil Products LLP (PKOP) are the main business units of PetroKazakhstan. PKKR is the group’s upstream unit and is located in the southern part of Central Kazakhstan, in the Kyzylorda Oblast. The second unit is PKOP, which is based in South Kazakhstan Oblast, in Shymkent. It is engaged into refining of crude oil produced by PKKR, as well as tollers’ oil.

PetroKazakhstan also holds a 50% share in two joint ventures operating in the South-Turgai oil basin – Kazgermunai and Turagi Petroleum. The company’s partner in JV Kazgermunai LLP is EP KazMunaiGas, while its partner in JSC Turgai Petroleum is LUKoil Overseas Kumkol BV.
