In 2007 within the framework of the Memorandum on Cooperation the company allocated more than 400 thousand USD for construction of the Central Sterilization Complex in the city of Shymkent. The complex equipped with up-to-date and new equipment and having ample rooms was solemnly opened already in the following year. In 2008 under the same Memorandum the company provided its timely financial assistance for the citizens of Saryagash District having transferred 100 million KZT for the restoration of school buildings, houses and bridges in that region that were severely damaged by the flood.
Over the past three years PetroKazakhstan acts as a social partner of the Committee for Women’s Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the Akim of South Kazakhstan Oblast. As part of that partnership, the company acted as the general sponsor of the republic-wide charity action “Women of Kazakhstan against Poverty” arranged in accordance with the program of the National Committee for Women’s Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of RoK. Training and development children games, TV-sets and DVD-players were provided to kindergartens located in the depth of the 15 districts of South Kazakhstan Oblast. Around 1 million KZT were allocated for implementation of that project. In 2010 within the frameworks of this Program was provided direct assistance to Women Councils of 5 regions of SKO. They were granted with sewing machines, overstitching machines and other necessary equipment for creating the work spaces to women-invalids and families that have children-invalids.
Taking care of the health of its employees the company annually pays for their therapeutic recreation at sanatoriums and resorts. Moreover, every year the children of refinery employees are granted with the vouchers for summer camps in the total amount of more than 30 thousand USD.
The company does not forget about veterans of the World War II either. By providing its annual support of more than 5,000 USD to the Oblast Veterans’ Union the company is helping the veterans to buy medications in a timely manner.
The Oblast Center of Hyperbaric Oxygenation after Orynbaev receives support from the company in the form of bulk oxygen which is enough for charging 1,000 bottles and is used for production and technical needs. Citizens from all parts of South Kazakhstan Oblast take treatment procedures in the altitude chamber of this center. Taking care of handicapped people the company has provided funds for the Shymkent Training and Production Enterprise to resume its functioning.
